Newton 25KM Trial Run...

By Frank

This morning, I had my third Newton 25KM trial run with Chin Chin, Jamie and Poh Seng. The previous 2 times, we never really run the complete route. My first with Jamie 2 weeks ago, we made the u-turn too early and ended up just 20KM. My second with Chin Chin and Siok Bee last week, we almost made it except that I got confused near the u-turn and ended up running short of 1KM.

Today, no mistake as it's homework redone again. Started all right, but didn't know the reason behind my sluggishness after my first stop at 10KM at the Esso petrol kiosk. I had my energy gel there but instead of giving me the boost, I became weak. Weird right?

As the race quickly approached, more and more runners can be seen giving this route a shot. Yim, Karen, Yin Fook, Yee Tze, Chooi Wan, Doris and some unfamiliar faces from the Bukit Jalil running group I believe were seen along the route this morning. Good for them.

As we approach the final 4KM or so, there was a slight drizzle. Jamie was hoping for rain but I was telling the "person up there" to hold the horses. Don't let the sky open up yet while I'm still running. I don't want to get wet! Ran a bit faster and managed to complete the run before it rain. Well, actually it didn't rain, just drizzle. Dark rain clouds were seen and leaves were flying all over the places, but it was a false alarm. Naughty naughty...

Jamie left early as he is a family man during the weekend. Had breakfast with Chin Chin and Poh Seng and the joke of the morning was that Poh Seng's half boiled egg only arrived only when we were about to leave. And it was three quarter boiled. The waiter must have forgotten about it.

Though a sluggish run, I'm glad I ran it for the third time. No, I'm not hoping for anything on the actual race day. This is part of my The North Face 100 2010 training and what a way to train with friends who are participating in the same race as well. Probably this will be the last trial run or probably another next week before we hit the trails soon.

K-Swiss Running Club Malaysia...

By Frank

Over the past weekend on 14 August 2010, the K-Swiss Running Club Malaysia or simply unofficially known as MY K-Swiss, a community running project by K-Swiss, Runners Malaysia and Runnerz Circle is officially unveiled to the public at a very simple introduction session together with Runners Malaysia at the Bukit Aman carpark.

The official K-Swiss Running Club...

A cool morning after an early shower, a good number of runners turn up for the event. A short introduction about the objective of the club before a short 7KM run around the Lake Gardens followed by a get together Q&A session while everyone check out the shoes. Though not a new brand, many are unaware of K-Swiss presence in the running world and this session has given most the opportunity to have a close up with the brand. And not only that, runners were given the opportunity to be part of the club by registering themselves as a member. The application fee of RM20 for 4 years is waived on this special day in conjunction with the launch of the club and members are entitled for a 10% discount off K-Swiss products.

MY K-Swiss Launch & Intro Session...

K-Swiss was founded by 2 Swiss brothers who became avid tennis players after moving to Southern California. In 1966, they introduced the first all-leather tennis shoe, the K-Swiss "Classic".

Today, K-Swiss premium sports heritage has expanded from tennis footwear, to also lifestyle, running, training, nautical and free running footwear that stands up to the performance demands of world-class athletes and trendsetters alike.

And for over 30 years, K-Swiss and Ironman have been symbols of quality, endurance and performance. Together, K-Swiss and Ironman create superior products for the multisport athlete.

The K-Swiss Running Club has been a global phenomenon in bringing together normal individuals to experience running as part of a healthy lifestyle. And besides that, to educate and to motivate fellow runners has always been the main objective. Running shouldn't be painful, yet it should be enjoyed and this is where we are to help fulfill this.

Come join us this coming 14 August 2010, where Malaysia will introduce our very own K-Swiss Running Club or simply MY K-Swiss in short. A global initiative to promote running and a community running project endorsed and supported by K-Swiss, Runners Malaysia and Runnerz Circle.

Runnerz Circle Is Now Open...

By Frank

After 178 days of planning, hiccups and sleepless nights, I finally made it a reality. To start a business based on the sport I'm attached with and also a "spin off" from my blog, Runnerz Circle besides a blog is also now a retail outlet showcasing general health and fitness, running and triathlon gears and equipments.

Thanks Geraldine and Jamie for the flowers...

It's a huge investment and I really took the "plunge" into this. It's a "do or die" thing and there is only one way for this, to be successful. I'm glad I have very good distributors for the products I carry and beside, I have really close friends to help me out with certain marketing and stuff.

Runnerz Circle is proud to be the official partner for K-Swiss and being the first K-Swiss store in Malaysia and also local distributor to BV Sport compression products. Other brands we carry are 2XU, Sugoi, Zoot, Polar, Ceepo, Tacx, Nathan, SPIbelt and Accel Gel, just to name a few.
